Today was the first day where I have literally been so hot in class where I could hardly bare it, and it's only the middle of May. Marine told us that the weather gets much hotter in June, so I'm trying to brace myself and used to it. I was dripping sweat before class even started, so the Chinese teachers were nice enough to turn on the air conditioner (for the first time since we've been here) towards the end of class, which was really nice.
After class, we had our weekly meeting with Marine with the other kindy teachers and I found out that I was not alone in sweating my face off, everyone was equally as sweaty. Thus, we decided we needed an escape from the heat, so we walked down to the pool at Shiqui. As soon as I saw the pool, I knew that I would now be spending everyday I have left in China here. It was paradise; the pool was enormous and the water was so cool and refreshing. My pasty white skin soaked up the hot sun rays after I hopped out of the pool and sat on the lawn chair. There couldn't have been a better turn around from yesterday, my sad spirit was suddenly invigorated. It was a blissful afternoon, followed by a wonderful and productive evening. The day couldn't have gone better.
Oh this looks perfect! Good find Kasey!

That pool looks dreamy! I am going to swim in Highline Lake tonight. It's almost as dreamy as your pool. I hope your bug bites heal quickly, and that Jenna's supasunburner cools off quickly. Yeah -- ultraviolet rays do pass through cloud cover.
ReplyDeleteI love you!
