Day 91: Happy Happy Birthday, Mama Bear

This is a shout out to my main Ma,
Since I can't write, I'll put it in song
I haven't seen you for far too long,
But know that I love you, from home to Hong Kong

One thing about you, that I'll always admire,
Is that on the monument, even after a flat tire,
You'll burn through the hills, like a trail of fire,
And when I finally reach the top, I'll see you've hardly perspired

You are a champ, in whatever you do,
Whether it's donating a kidney, or raising a zoo
You have taken our hits, a time or two,
Yet we still get you laughing and in your craziest moods

You're my biggest advocate, always on my team,
Defending me always, even after a mean April fool's scheme
We do, however, work so well together,
Like cheating on banana grams, to make us look better

Whether it's getting Red Mango or a cool sonic drink,
You're in the car, before I have time to blink
We jam on the way to some Mumford and Sons,
And have our life chats, which are my most favorite ones.

You always remind me to do what is right,
Whether it's saying my prayers, or making curfew each night
At times I stubbornly disregard your words,
And each time I realize my choice was absurd.

It's your 50th birthday, which is, "Over the Hill"
But you're a rockin' hot momma, people need to get real.
I wish I could spend the day's time your way,
But for now I'll just wish you a Happy Birthday!

Happy 50th Birthday Google Mama!

  1. Oh Kasey! You make 50 not seem so bad! It is a strange number, but I am coming to terms with it!:)
Thank you so much for all the birthday sweetness all the way from China! I loved my Chinese birthday song this morning and my beautiful scarf and homemade card you left with dad were such a treat. I don't know anyone else that would plan 4 months ahead of time and leave a gift and message to be opened up on their birthday. You are so thoughtful and so kind.
I love the photo montage here on your blog as well. You girls are so creative. Lindsey made me a pretty one from the shores of Hawaii. I love that you are all so kind, and loving to me! Birthdays are great!!
I had a great time mountain biking, enjoyed a smoothie with dad sitting outside in the warm sunshine, had a lovely lunch and swim party with all the biker babes and Lindsey and then had dinner with the family and grandpa. It was a lovely day.
Thanks for doing so many nice things. I love you Kasey. You are such a dear little nugget in my life!
    Love ,
    Mom

And the shout out poem is awesome! You have way too many talents.
