Day 46: Potatoes

After a long day or resting yesterday, our group sat down together to a good ole cafeteria meal. We were all so hungry because we had missed breakfast and lunch earlier that day, we were too lazy to get up and just slept through them instead.

A bunch of teachers chose to eat these potato slices, but they didn't look quite appetizing to me. As they scarfed them down, everyone kept raving about how good they were and that I was missing out. However, that night, I was very thankful that I didn't partake of the mystery potatoes, for Jenna had to make several bathroom runs to return the potatoes where they belonged, down the drain. I felt so terribly for her, one, because this is the first time, ever, she has thrown up due to illness. She has had a pretty strong stomach thus far, but something here got the best of her we think. And two, I had nothing to offer her. All I had was some pepto, water, and peanut butter. Class started soon when I had realized she was sick, so I couldn't help her out much.

I went and had some breakfast and headed to the supply room, only to find that we had another sicky on our hands. Brent came panting inside, glistening with sweat, and explained how he threw up on his way here. The only thing he had eaten the night before were the potatoes, so we figured they were to blame for this outbreak.

Now that we were down two teachers, class schedules got a little hectic, but all ended up working well. We just cut out one class and used that time to practice the kids' end of the year performance. I seriously can't wait to start practicing dance moves to "some nights", the kids are really beginning to lock the lyrics down now.

Jenna is still feeling pretty ill, but Brent went to the doctor, got hooked up to an IV, or three, got medicated, and was well on his way. Health care here is much more affordable, it's wonderful. So for now, I'm just keeping a close eye on my sick little friend and hoping she will be better by tomorrow, so we can karaoke for Konner's birthday party!
