Day 49: Spectacles

I woke up this morning and listened to the soft sound of rain hitting the sidewalk while I laid in my cozy bed. I absolutely love the sound of rain, it's so soothing. I had the most difficult time getting up because of how peaceful the atmosphere was, but I knew breakfast noodles were awaiting me, so that helped bring about some motivation.

It was a rather chilly day here, actually; not a day has gone by this week where it has not rained. The air has been heavy and cold; I just want to nuzzle up on my couch back home, read a good book, and eat one of my Mom's many delicious soups. I'd kill for that right now, but I will nuzzle up to a warm bowl of rice, or oatmeal, for the time being.

I typically try not to wear my glasses to class because they are an automatic target for the little ones to grab hold of and do whatever they please with them. Anything that is foreign or out if the ordinary and brought into the classroom automatically catches their interest, so when I forgot and wore them today, I had no idea what I was in for.

My first class of the day, little Edward snuck behind me, snatched the glasses off of my face, and ran away with them in his sweaty paws. My immediate reaction was to count down from five and ask for them back, but he just said, "teacha Kasey, take a picture!" Naturally, I couldn't resist taking advantage of this photo opportunity, so I let it slide and started snapping. I've noticed that a typical reaction when anyone, of any age really, gets their picture taken is to ask to see it afterwards; one always want to see what they look like or if they "approve". That being said, i knew when Edward and the rest of his posse came running towards me, that's what they were coming for. Edward took one look at it, began giggling, and then next thing I knew, I had a line of kids wanting their picture to be take, as well.

I ran my own little photo shoot during milk break today and caught some of the funniest moments on camera. I keep telling myself that they can't get any cuter, but then days like today always prove me wrong. I love these kids as if they are my own, they are the sweetest little things.
