As I woke up this morning, I felt almost as if I had been hit by a truck, or maybe a large sized scooter. My arms felt weak, my lats felt as if they were being pinched, and basically my whole upper body felt like it should fall apart. I sat there thinking why in earth I felt this way, when I remembered that I had started doing cross fit workouts with Preston and Amanda the day before; it all made sense now. I loved trying a new type of workout, especially with them, but let's just say, the burpees and pull ups got the best of me that day.
Although i was struggled with my basic functions today, I decided to join the group for another workout. This time, it seemed to be quite a bit more difficult, but maybe it just felt that way because my muscles were already fatigued. With every push or pull up we did today, I could just feel the burning sensation spread throughout my upper body. I've developed a love hate relationship with this feeling: I love that I'm pushing my body and challenging myself, but I will sure hate it when the kids want me to dance and swing them around in the morning.
The workouts are great, and I love how motivated our group is to do them together. I plan to continue working with the group, so maybe by the end of the trip, I can do five full pull ups by myself. It's a good and worthy goal I believe, I definitely lack upper arm strength so it will be a good challenge.
Oh Cross Fit!!! If you can make it through the first 2 weeks you will be a Super Star for sure! It stretches and works things you never knew you had! Good for you you little Zumba Princess!
